About Mend Melbourne

Mend Melbourne is an online and in-person counselling and psychotherapy service grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care. With sessions available both virtually and at our office in Upper Ferntree Gully, we support individuals across Melbourne and beyond.

We specialise in working with adults impacted by complex trauma, anxiety, childhood sexual abuse, family violence, neglect, dissociation, addiction, and low self-esteem. Our focus includes psychoeducation around mindfulness, nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and strategies to manage distressing thought patterns and behaviours.

Founded by a highly trained and experienced trauma counsellor, Mend Melbourne offers counselling for trauma survivors, anxiety therapy, and support for those recovering from difficult childhoods. We also welcome NDIS participants, Redress clients, and those seeking affordable, professional mental health support.

Our therapeutic style is integrative and tailored, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Motivational Interviewing. Our practice is guided by the Blue Knot Foundation’s guidelines and the work of renowned trauma experts such as Judith Herman, Bessel van der Kolk, and Babette Rothschild.

At Mend Melbourne, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and down-to-earth environment. Whether online or in our Upper Ferntree Gully counselling office, we offer a space where empathy, safety, and even humour support the process of healing and growth.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring connection to this land, its waters, and culture.

We honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and acknowledge the profound and lasting impacts of colonisation, including generational trauma and the devastation caused by policies of dispossession, forced removal, and systemic injustice.

In this space, we also acknowledge the deep scars left by childhood sexual abuse and other forms of trauma within First Nations communities, compounded by historical and intergenerational pain. We commit to listening, learning, and working alongside First Nations peoples to foster healing, respect, and meaningful reconciliation.

May this acknowledgement remind us of our shared responsibility to nurture a future of justice, equity, and hope.
