About Us

Counselling for Trauma and Survivors of Abuse

Mend Melbourne is a specialist online counselling practice supporting adult victim-survivors across Australia. We are a small, dedicated team of four counsellors united by a shared passion for trauma-informed care and a deep commitment to the people we work with.

Our Story

Mend Melbourne was founded by Hannah Bruce out of a deep, personal commitment to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and trauma.

After years working extensively with survivors, that passion grew into something bigger - a practice dedicated to supporting those who have experienced some of life's most profound challenges.

Today, Mend works with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, crime, and neglect, as well as people living with CPTSD, BPD, trauma, and anxiety.

Advocating for victim-survivors and amplifying the voices of those who have experienced systemic injustice sits at the core of everything we stand for. This work isn't just professional - it's a vocation.

Every client is met with belief, respect, and a genuine commitment to walking alongside them as they navigate their own path forward, in their own time, on their own terms.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring connection to this land, its waters, and culture.

We honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and acknowledge the profound and lasting impacts of colonisation, including generational trauma and the devastation caused by policies of dispossession, forced removal, and systemic injustice.

In this space, we also acknowledge the deep scars left by childhood sexual abuse and other forms of trauma within First Nations communities, compounded by historical and intergenerational pain. We commit to listening, learning, and working alongside First Nations peoples to foster healing, respect, and meaningful reconciliation.

May this acknowledgement remind us of our shared responsibility to nurture a future of justice, equity, and hope.
